Product description:The name Naga Kanya refers to the daughter of a snake or Mother Guardian. According to Hindu mythology, they reside in the underworld with immense spiritual knowledge and power, protecting and offering the teachings of the Mother Goddess. In Buddhism, Naga Kanya is perceived as a guardian of the Dharma; the Naga King Muchalinda protected the Buddha when he was in deep meditation during a heavy rain storm. The brass statue portrays the goddess as a winged woman with the lower body of a serpent and a human female torso, crowned with a hood formed by five cobras. Both her hands are raised above her head, each holding a conch. The iconic attributes are exquisitely detailed, she is adorned with jewelry all over her body, and the antique brown finish graces the surface that gives a distinguished charm to the statue. It is believed that these serpentine spirits are believed to bring enormous blessings to devotees when worshipped.
