Product description: Lord Murugan commonly known as the Tamil God, is worshipped by Tamil communities throughout the world. Tholkaapiyam, one of the ancient texts of Tamil literature identifies Murugan as the red god, and the name Murugan means “youth”. The statue depicts Murugan standing on a double lotus pedestal with his vahana, the peacock standing behind him. The peacock feathers are engraved with intricate floral designs. The rear right hand has a weapon called soola kathi( diamond shaped spear ), and left hand has a trishul. The front right and left hand of Karthikeya are in abhaya and Varada mudra. The most powerful weapon of Lord Kumara is the sakthi Vel which is placed diagonally to the statue. The face of Murugan is beautiful, with a smiling expression; certainly a splendid statue of Murugan in a fine finish.
Reason for sale: A very small crack barely noticeable is present on the pedestal, under the peacock. This mark does not extent further or affect the statue.
