Product description: Apsaras are believed to be heavenly nymphs who entertain gods and kings with their captivating dance and charm, and are an integral part of Cambodia's rich cultural heritage that can be seen in the intricate carvings of Angkor Wat and other ancient temples. The bronze Apsara is depicted standing on a pedestal in a dignified pose, with one hand raised holding a lotus bud, while the other hand is folded and rests on the abdomen, also holding a lotus bud. She is adorned with a tall decorated headdress, and a sampot garment which is long skirt traditional of Cambodia. The face of the Apsara looks serene with expressive eyes, a finely chiseled nose, and a gentle smile that radiates warmth and kindness, subtly lighting up her face. The hands are depicted in particular gestures, and “Jeeb”, a hand position that is defined by pressing the thumb and forefinger together and fanning the remaining fingers out as seen in the statue, can be used to express different emotions like shyness, laughter, and love. The antique black color further elevate the statue’s stature, highlighting its details, and enhancing the visual charm of the Apsara. The Apsara statue is a harmonious blend of artistry and cultural symbolism, that captures the beauty and grace of the celestial nymphs.
