This representation symbolizes protection, serenity, and enlightenment. The face of the Buddha has a calm expression, and the details of the statue represents the Bayon style; an iconographic attribute common during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. The Buddha has long earlobes, raised brows, and a serene countenance with his eyes half closed in self contemplation, and a gentle smile that conveys inner peace and compassion.
