Product description: Buddha born as Siddhartha in a ruling family in Nepal, decided to leave the life of comfort to seek spiritual awareness. He is revered as a spiritual leader, and whose teachings led to the start of Buddhism. Buddha means “one who is awake” or “the enlightened one”. The statue depicts Buddha seated in a double lotus pedestal in a cross-legged position (Padmasana yoga pose or full Lotus position), with his right hand upright and palm facing outwards showing abhaya mudra, and the left hand resting on his lap. The mudra is the gesture of fearlessness, and represents peace and protection. According to Buddhism, Buddha made this gesture after attaining the state of Nirvana. Buddha's face has a peaceful countenance, and the small bump on his head is called Ushnisha which symbolizes wisdom. The robe of the Buddha, and his long earlobes are finished with beautiful coral and turquoise inlay work, indeed an enticing statue of the Buddha in a gesture of fearlessness.
