Product description: Shiva, one of the Hindu trinities along with Brahma and Vishnu, played a crucial role in the spiritual and cultural life of the Khmer Empire. The bronze statue depicts Shiva in Bayon style, which is known for their remarkable fusion of Hindu and Khmer artistry with decorated ornaments and headdress, that is typically seen in the statue of Shiva. He is standing in a dynamic pose on a small pedestal with 8 arms, each holding a weapon including a mace, a disc, a sword, stringed holy bead, a conch, leaf script, and a club. He wears a stylized dhoti with floral motifs and delicate leaf designs, long earrings, anklets, spiked footwear, a crown engraved with a small figurine of Shiva himself, and the third eye engraved on his forehead represents Shiva's omniscience. The detailed engravings of figurines of rishis around Shiva’s neck, and also on the chest and body makes it a unique, striking piece of art. The statue is bound to lots of intricate details reflecting khmer style, and the face of Shiva exudes a sense of calmness and divine authority. The black patina appear to be a perfect match for the statue, as black color is associated with “infinite”, representing the transcendent and formless aspect of Shiva, known as Nirguna Brahman. The statue is certainly a beautiful piece, that highlights all intricate details, and the fine workmanship by our artisans of Cambodia.
