Product description: Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, was highly revered as a Tantric Buddhist Vajra master who introduced Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet, and the founder of Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Born in Oddiyana in the 8th century (Modern day Pakistan) from a lotus flower on lake Dhanakosha, he possessed great spiritual powers from an early age. Hence he is called as the lotus born master or Precious Guru. He was was invited to Tibet by King Trisong Detsen to help establish Buddhism in the country. The copper statue is a beautiful representation of Guru Rinpoche sculpted showing the fine details; the face of Padmasambhava appears furious, eyes open with a piercing intense look, he has a moustache, and a goatee, and carries a gentle smile on his face. He is seated on a lotus throne which symbolically denotes his birth from a lotus flower, and his right hand holds a vajra (an implement used in Tantric ritual) and his left hand holds a skull cup containing the vase of immortality. The vajra represents the indestructible nature of enlightenment, while the skull cup symbolizes the transmutation of negative emotions into wisdom. He wears a lotus hat with a vajra, and a vulture feather on top, and his clothing includes monastic robes along with the royal coat. A khatvanga which is a traditional ritual staff of Vajrayana Buddhism is seen on the left side of Padmabhasambava, and the staff has three severed heads with a trident top;  the khatvanga is considered a powerful symbol of spiritual authority and accomplishment in the Vajrayana tradition. Guru Rinpoche is revered by Tibetan Buddhists as the master of meditation, a great teacher, and a powerful spiritual leader who continues to inspire and guide practitioners to this day. His teachings and practices are considered to be of great benefit in overcoming obstacles, purifying negative karma, and achieving enlightenment. The copper statue of Guru Rinpoche is hand crafted by our skilled artisans that exemplifies the craftsmanship, and reflect the rich cultural traditions of Nepal.
