Product description: Lord Subramanya commonly known as Murugan, the Tamil God, is worshipped by Tamil communities throughout the world. Tholkaapiyam, one of the ancient texts of Tamil literature identifies Murugan as the red god, and the name Murugan means “youth”. The statue depicts Murugan standing on an inverted lotus pedestal with his vahana, the peacock standing behind him, gripping onto a small serpent. The peacock feathers are elaborately shown with intricate floral designs. The rear right hand holds a weapon called soola kathi( diamond shaped spear ), and left hand holds a trishul. The front right of Murugan is in vitarka mudra, holding a flower, and his left hand holds the most powerful weapon called the sakthi Vel. The face of Murugan looks calm with a smiling expression, and he is adorned with artistically designed vastram(clothing) and ornaments. Certainly a splendid statue of Murugan in a fine black and brass yellow finish.
