Product description: Nandi also known as Nandikeshvara or Nandideva is a sacred bull in Hinduism, particularly associated with the worship of Lord Shiva, as a symbol of devotion and as a loyal companion of Lord Shiva. Nandi is typically depicted as a white bull with a hump on its back. Nandi is regarded as the chief of Shiva's attendants and is considered a symbol of strength, and fertility. Nandi, a smart boy and an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, grew up with his father Sage Shilada. At a very young age he widely read many sacred scriptures and texts. His devotion to lord Shiva was so great that through his sheer penance, Lord Shiva appeared in front of him. When Shiva was willing to grant anything Nandi wished for, Nandi looked at the Lord and said, that he wished to stay with him forever. Shiva granted Nandi his boon, and told him that he would have the face of the bull, and be his gatekeeper, his vahana, his companion, and the head of all attendants. Devotees praying to Shiva worship Nandideva first, and it is believed that if Nandi is pleased, they get the blessings of Shiva, as Nandi acts as the intermediary between devotees and Lord Shiva. Hence Nandi holds a special place in Hindu temples, and his presence adds depth and significance to the worship of Lord Shiva. The brass statue portrays Nandi adorned with beautiful ornaments and seated with his legs folded. The face of Nandi is very calm with a pleasing gesture, and other accessories on the bull certainly highlights the aesthetic beauty of the statue; indeed a cute little Nandikeshvara for your home or office that can be used for worship or as a decor.
