Product description: Kamakshi Amman is the form of the Hindu Goddess Parvathi, who is the Goddess of fertility, love, devotion, progeny, strength, and power. She is an incarnation of Shakthi, the Universal Mother, and also the ultimate form of Goddess Shri Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari. The famous Kamakshi Amman temple is in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, and hence she is referred to as Kanchi Kamakshi. She is worshipped as the Parabrahma Swaroopini, and it is also said that her furious form Ugra Swaroopini was pacified by Adhi Shankara as he wrote the Saundarya Lahiri to make the Goddess peaceful.
The bronze statue depicts the Goddess seated on an inverted lotus in padmasna pose or lotus pose. The face of Kamakshi is absolutely admirable with a smiling expression. The crescent shaped moon in her crown symbolizes Lord Shiva. The rear hands of the Goddess are holding an ankusha (goad) and a pasha (noose), while her front hands are holding a bunch of flowers with a parrot, and a sugarcane. The prabhavali (the arch) behind the statue carries intricate details throughout, and has a Kirtimukha face at the top. The sugarcane, and the arch are removable pieces from the statue. The statue of panchaloha bronze Kamakshi Amman is one of a kind statue made using the lost-wax method; an expert craftsmanship by our South Indian bronze artisan.
