Product description: Lord Nataraja is the Hindu God Shiva in his cosmic dance form. His dance Ananda Tandava on the demon Apasmara within the circle of fire symbolizes the cosmic cycles of creation and destruction. The statue depicts Lord Nataraja standing on the demon Apasmara, and has a small drum called Damaru in his rear right hand (denotes creation), and Agni (Fire) in his left hand (denotes destruction). The right forehand of Nataraja shows Abhaya ( fearlessness), and his left forehand pointing downwards with the palm facing inwards represents concealment, and that he is the creator of Maya. The flying hair of Lord Shiva shows his fiery dance, and the river Goddess Ganges is tied in his hair to calm the river for the regeneration of life. The Angkor Wat style bronze statue of Nataraja certainly highlights the fine workmanship by our artisans of Cambodia.
