Product description: Lord Nataraja embodies the Hindu deity Shiva in his celestial dance manifestation. The bronze statue depicts Lord Nataraja in a blazing fire circle called the prabha mandala, a ring of flames, symbolizing the cycle of creation and destruction. Through his dance, known as Ananda Tandava, he symbolizes the cosmic rhythm of creation and destruction, depicted by his dance within the fiery circle, subduing the demon Apasmara. With his rear arms outstretched, each arm holds symbolic objects like, damaru, fire, Shiva appears to be in eternal motion. The lower right hand is in abhaya mudra, a gesture of fearlessness, while the left hand has the palm facing inwards which represents concealment, and that he is the creator of Maya. The face of Nataraja has a serene countenance with an enigmatic smile, reflecting his benevolence and compassion. His third eye, a symbol of wisdom and insight, is subtly engraved on his forehead. His right foot is elegantly raised, symbolizing liberation, while his left foot stands on the demon Apasmara, representing ignorance. Every detail, from the delicate features of Shiva's face to the flowing locks of his hair, is meticulously handcrafted, and the weathered bronze patina imparts an earthy hue, as though Nature itself has embraced the statue, and this patina is the hallmark of traditional bronze statuary. The statue of bronze Nataraja is certainly admirable, one of a kind statue made using the lost-wax method; an expert craftsmanship by our South Indian bronze artisan.
