Product description: Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Gautama Buddha, was a spiritual teacher and the founder of Buddhism. Gautama was born into a royal family, and was the prince of the shakya clan. He became disillusioned with the material world and its suffering, and in search of truth and liberation, he renounced his luxurious life to seek enlightenment. Through deep meditation and introspection, he attained enlightenment and became the Buddha, meaning "the awakened one." The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha is seated on a lotus in padmasana or lotus position, with all five fingers of the right hand extending over the right knee, and palm facing inwards touching the lotus is called bhumisparsha mudra or earth touching gesture. His left hand holds the Alms bowl. The face of the Buddha looks beautiful and has a serene expression. He has long earlobes, raised brows and eyes looking downward in self contemplation. The protrusion on the top the head is called the Ushnisha which symbolizes wisdom. The natural hair curls, and the robe design with semi precious stones are meticulously hand crafted that exemplifies the craftsmanship, and certainly a beautiful 24K gold gilded copper statue of Shakyamuni Buddha handmade by our skilled artisans of Nepal.
