Product description: Goddess Saraswathi, the consort of Brahma the creator, is worshipped as the Goddess of learning, wisdom, speech, music and art. The name Saraswathi means "flowing water", "possessing water", and as the name suggests she is one of the early Aryan rivers called the Saraswathi river that flows from the Himalayas and is considered a sacred river like the Ganges. Goddess Saraswathi is portrayed seated on a white lotus, wearing a white saree which depicts purity and peace, and Swan is said to be her vahana. The musical instrument in her hand is called "Saraswathi veena" which was named after her, also known as the "Raghunatha veena" used in Carnatic Indian classical music. Saraswathi puja is celebrated on the last day of Navarathiri by offering garlands of white flowers, fruits and books to get the blessings of the divine mother.

The bronze statue depicts Saraswathi in a dance pose standing on an inverted lotus pedestal. The face of Saraswathi is absolutely beautiful with a calm, smiling expression. She holds the veena diagonally with her front two hands and happily dances playing the veena, with her left leg raised and resting on her vahana, the swan. Her right leg is slightly bent with her heel raised depicting her typical dance pose. Saraswathi is adorned with artistically designed vastram, beautiful jewelries, a richly decorated tall crown, and her rear hands each holding a bead string and a palm leaf script. The Veena is removable from the statue. The bronze statue has an amazing antique finish with stunning details throughout the statue. The statue of bronze Saraswathi is one of a kind statue made using the lost-wax method; an expert craftsmanship by our South Indian bronze artisan.
