Product description: The lamp is a traditional lamp made in South India with Goddess Lakshmi atop, and has a five wick deepam plate. The Goddess is seated holding lotus flowers in her rear two hands, and her front two hands are in Abhaya and Varada mudra. Lakshmi lamps are said to be very auspicious for worship and during festivals. The beautiful leafy floral designs engraved on the top deepam plate, in the stem of the lamp, and the bottom circular plate has been given great attention which makes the lamp very attractive, and gives it a very beautiful appearance. The deepam plate in the lamp is filled with oil or ghee, and a wick (strands of thread or cotton) is placed inside to light the lamp. In Hinduism, lighting the lamp symbolizes the removal of darkness and brings good fortune in one's life. The amazing quality and the fine finish of the lamp is simply remarkable; indeed an exceptional work by our south Indian artisans.
