Product description: Nataraja is the Hindu God Shiva in his cosmic dance form. His dance Anandatandava on the demon Apasmara within the circle of fire symbolizes the cosmic cycles of creation and destruction. Shiva's dance has two cycles - the Lasya (the gentle form of dance), associated with the creation of the world, and the Tandava (the vigorous form of dance), associated with the destruction. The circle of fire around Shiva in which he performs his dance is called the prabhamandala (circle of fire).

Cast in bronze, the sculpture is a harmonious blend of intricate details and symbolic elements. Lord Shiva is adorned with detailed jewelry, including necklaces, anklets, and bracelets, which embellish his divine form. His matted locks cascade down gracefully, representing his wild and untamed nature. The upper right hand carries the damaru (a small drum), symbolizing the rhythm of creation, while the upper left hand holds Agni (fire), representing the destructive forces in the universe. The lower right hand is in abhaya mudra, a gesture of fearlessness,  while the left hand has the palm facing inwards which represents concealment, and that he is the creator of Maya. The face of Nataraja has a serene countenance with an enigmatic smile, reflecting his benevolence and compassion. His third eye, a symbol of wisdom and insight, is subtly engraved on his forehead. The circle of fire emerges from the two makaras (mythical water beasts) on each end, and the lower part of the arch has two yalis on either sides. This particular arch in the statue varies from the usual Nataraja statues as there are two makaras present on the top of the arch in place of the kirtimukha face. The divine dance is performed on the dwarf demon Apasmara, representing ignorance and ego, symbolizing the triumph of divine knowledge over ignorance. The warm bronze patina seem to possess a living quality, imparting a sense of dynamic beauty giving it an ageless and captivating allure. Nataraja statue is not only a visually stunning piece of art, but also a powerful representation of cosmic order and divine energy. The statue of bronze Nataraja is one of a kind statue depicting incredible details of the attributes of Nataraja and is made using the lost-wax method; an expert craftsmanship by our South Indian bronze artisan.
