Product description: Lord Karthikeya is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, and referred to as the Hindu God of war. He is commonly known as the Tamil God Murugan, and is worshipped by Tamil communities throughout the world. Tamil sangam literature glorifies Murugan as the “Red God seated on a blue peacock, young and beautiful”. Tholkaapiyam, one of the ancient texts of Tamil literature also identifies Murugan as the red god. He is known by several names and the most common names are Skanda, Kumara and Subramanya. The wood panel is designed with Karthikeya and his vahana the peacock standing on a small mount. The right hand of Murugan is in blessing pose with his palm facing outwards, and the symbol Tamil OM is engraved on his palm. The weapon Vel is placed on his right, and positioned diagonal to his body. The left hand is rested on his hip which is a typical posture of Lord Karthikeya. The outer frame has leafy floral patterns, and the beauty of Lord Karthikeya best illustrates the fine workmanship by our team of artists. Wall hanging hardware attached to panel.
